Crime Guy refers to my Substack publication. I write about two cold cases and my historical true crime research and books over there.
Cold Cases
I work primarily on four cold cases: Suzy Lamplugh, Penny Bell, Sophie Toscan du Plantier and Claudia Lawrence.

Services
Most of my true crime work revolves around two high-profile historical cold cases: Sophie Toscan du Plantier and Suzy Lamplugh. I am always happy to receive correspondence about any of these cases in confidence. You can read several articles about these cases on my Substack or Medium. On those sites, members have access to a number of PDF downloads about each case which I am in the process of updating for 2025, but these are already quite comprehensive.
I am also happy to receive messages about other complex cold cases. Although I specialise in the UK and Ireland, I will consider cases anywhere in the world. My involvement can be summarised in three ways:-
- Report on secondary sources only
This kind of research is primarily aimed at podcast creators and journalists who want support on a story or episode. I can share resources on any of the cases mentioned above, or carry out original research on secondary sources including other podcasts, TV documentaries, books, newspapers and similar. - Investigation including primary sources
Going deeper into the details, in some cases you might be interested in receiving assistance with primary sources. These might include location photographs or short videos, and interviews with key witnesses. I can help you prepare for these events. - Professional law enforcement
I am always happy to share any materials or thinking behind any of my articles with professional law enforcement authorities on any of the cases above, or indeed on any other case.
