Spies of London, Mayfair, June 2017

We are tooling up our Spies of London, an experience offered by Airbnb. The timing will coincide with the new novel by P. C. DETTMANN, the second in the LOCKSLEY spy series featuring a new spy, Paul Locksley. Join us in Mayfair!

Airbnb got in touch recently because they knew we were looking to offer an experience like no other. Their curated “experiences” strand is aimed at both tourists and locals. So this needs to be good enough to stand out from the crowd. And it will.

This is not a London walking tour, although you will need to walk a bit. It is the only zero carbon way to move in London. And in Mayfair there isn’t much traffic anyway, above and beyond the diplomatic Daimlers.

Starting outside the Saudi embassy in Curzon Street, we will take you through an immersive experience. We start in 1945, and finish in 2017 with a murder in Malaysia using VX nerve agent. And we cover everything in between. Everything you discover is true. Except when it isn’t. Blending spy fiction and film noir with true life, expect to be surprised.

You will drink in the bar where Ian Fleming downed his famous martinis. You will see Heywood Hill and the London Library, and Chatham House. You will walk the same pavements as George Smiley, following part of his route home to Bywater Street on the night Peter Guillam was waiting for him in his yellow Porsche.

And you will meet Paul Locksley, a new spy for a new cold war.
