Weekly 12, July 9

PAUL DETTMANN
PAUL DETTMANN

Some late changes this week as release schedules get shuffled around. I really enjoyed making last week's and I hope I have found a couple of new artists for you, including one from Britain!

Out Of My Head / Self Medicated by Miller Campbell

Regular readers will know that I'm basically running a stan account for Miller this last few weeks. She has such range from happy, light belters to angry break-up songs, and in the last track this week she even gets a little bit sweary. I think she's the real deal with an enormous future. To try and demonstrate her range, herewith two songs on the 12 this week, topping and tailing the playlist.

Zoee

Zoee has her debut album out this week, so she's full of even more than her usual enthusiasm and you can read about Side A below!

Album Launch: The Butterfly Effect by Zoee
Zoee’s debut album is OUT NOW!
The Butterfly Effect (Side 1) by Zoee
Welcome to my whole album deep dive of The Butterfly Effect, Zoee’s debut album which she released on her birthday, Independence Day! You can read more about Zoee here on Tennessee Vibes. I have written about a couple of these songs before, but I have brought the first five tracks

Swearingen & Kelli

Last week we had a Kelli track and this week we have both Jayne Kelli and AJ Swearingen singing a fab country number.

The Ressurection Game by Emma Swift

Emma is another Nashville-based Australian but ploughing a different furrow to Zoee. She's great and also has an album out. You can get three tracks on Bandcamp now, with the full vinyl due later in the year.

Idiot by Bre Kennedy

Bre's long-awaited single Idiot is out this week!

Love Letter by Kayess

Fellow northerner Kayess has a song on this week's 12 too. She's great!

Other Artists

As you know I don't write about all 12 songs every week. The other songs are familiar names here at Tennessee Vibes: Cyrena Wages, Lola Kirke, Hannah Telle, Blue Water Highway and Pearl Charles all have songs in the playlist this week!

I think Cyrena has a new video coming out but she is being uncharacteristically coy about her plans for Friday.

Weekly 12

I am making the Weekly 12 available on both YouTube and Spotify this week to see if either service is more popular. I am aware of continuing controversy around Spotify but I have to choose services which allow people to listen without paying for a premium account. Let me know if you have a different preference.
